One of the endearing characteristics of Sidmouth is the year round combination of all that’s best of both sea and country.
In and around Sidmouth there are many walks through secluded wooded glades, open moorland and, of course, the cliff-tops all of which are close to the town itself.
A short drive by car brings you to even more areas of natural scenic beauty to explore.
Walk through the Byes’ alongside the quiet running River Sid-it is a most pleasant stroll leading to Sidford.
There are cliff paths to the top of Salcombe Hill with its magnificent view of the bay; on the other side of the valley you can reach the top of Peak Hill and thence to High Peak and down to Ladram Bay.
